Navitas demonstrates 3,200W from a half litre CRPS power supply
Navitas is claiming it can deliver 3,200W from a 40 x 73.5 x 185mm (544cm3) data centre power supply, which is 5.9W/cm3 and almost 100W/in3.
Navitas is claiming it can deliver 3,200W from a 40 x 73.5 x 185mm (544cm3) data centre power supply, which is 5.9W/cm3 and almost 100W/in3.
Called CRPS185, it has a 1U CRPS (common redundant power supply) form-factor.
Inside, the architecture starts with an interleaved CCM (continuous conduction mode) PFC (power factor corrector) and continues into a full-bridge LLC (inductor-inductor-capacitor) converter using the company’s 650V GaN transistors and drivers.
“Compared to traditional ‘Titanium’ solutions,” said the company, “CRPS185 ‘Titanium Plus’ design running at a typical 30% load can reduce electricity consumption by 757kWh over three years.”
Further details are not publicly available. “Full design report documentation for the CRPS185 3,200W is available to qualified customers under NDA”, the company told Electronics Weekly.
